A Guide to Cannes Nightlife

Cannes, as one of the most glamorous spots on the Riviera, has nightlife to rival any major city. Despite its relatively small size, Cannes’ atmosphere is decadent and exciting. Knowing where to go is integral to finding that electrifying atmosphere. Below you will find a guide to a Cannoise night out compiled from previous clients’ favorite places, the staffs’ preferred haunts and plenty of local knowledge.

For those quiet ones after a busy day

These bars and pubs are great for just hanging out in jean and t-shirts. The glamour of Cannes can sometimes be a bit too much so for a relaxed evening out we suggest the following places:

Morrisons10 Rue Teisseire

Very popular Irish bar in the city center, just off Rue d’Antibes. With its relaxed atmosphere and great live music scene, Morrisons acts as a magnet to Cannes’ youthful, foreign crowd. There are plenty of reasons to join them – not least the wide choice of beer and drinks. Good for the weekends as it is open from 1pm and shows all GAA matches, English Premiership, Golf and Rugby fixtures on their widescreen TVs.

Le Cave a Vin10 Rue Marceau

Also just off Rue d’Antibes, this relaxed and intimate venue boasts over 150 different types of wines from around the world. Cosy and kitch, this wine bar is particularly attractive to locals.

The QuaysQuai St Pierre

This is the other very popular Irish Bar in Cannes and is very appealing to the local expats as it is more mellow than Morrisons. Shows all the sporting fixtures also as well as Gaelic football in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Le Carre Blanc14 Rue Macé

Moving to the more lively atmosphere, DJs play for the later part of the evening creating a hip atmosphere though it’s still entirely possible to chill in a corner with a glass of wine if that’s more your thing.

For the Big Night! – Glitzy Bars and Clubs

If you’re on the Riviera to party then you will be spoiled for choice. The bars listed below all have great atmosphere and all are great for a certain point in the night. The list is in chronological order from where to start the night with a more relaxed drink to where you’ll dance away into the wee hours. Be aware that some of these bars have doormen and if you are not dressed appropriately you will be turned away.

Like anywhere on the Riviera, some of these places can be as expensive as 100 Euros for a bottle of house wine. As a result some of the clientele or staff can be a little snobby but hey, this is Cannes. Play along!

Charly’s – 5 Rue du Suquet

Duck into this stylish cave style bar for an intimate atmosphere. Described as the perfect place to start the night, Charly’s has a great array of cocktails, wines and champagnes. They also do great tapas and sushi if you didn’t quite have time for dinner.

Loft bar 13 rue du Dr Monod

New York style loft makes the ideal location for a relaxed drink in a luxurious atmosphere. Post 11pm this bar becomes a hot-spot for the designer clad socialites with a sexy and seductive atmosphere.

Caliente – 83 Bld de la Croisette

Latin themes bar on the Croisette with a more relaxed atmosphere than its jet set neighboring bars. Dance into the wee hours to the live band as sip Margaritas or Caipirinhas all night.

Dada Da – 15 Rue des Frères Pradignac

Alternative and avant-garde club in the bustling Carre d’Or area of Cannes.  This club attracts a young and alternative crowd with its great live acts throughout the summer. Guaranteed late night partying in the most electric atmosphere in Cannes.

Balroom/Whatnut – 7 Rue Marceau

Double floored club that splits its music and ambience between 80’s and contemporary.

For that special night – High Class Venues

These venues are the crème de la crème, great for a celebration or impressing a visitor or a client. Due to the caliber of these places, your budget will have to be more generous. If you go with no holds barred, the glamour, excitement and experiences will be ones you will never forget.

Le Baoli – 1 Boulevard de la Croisette

The illustrious celebrity club in Cannes famous for its lush interiors and status as a member of the Finest Clubs in the World Association. Le Baoli is a decadent and once in a lifetime experience.

Club Palais – La Rotonde de Lerins

Open only during the summers, the club linked to the Palais des Festivals hosts some of the best live acts from well known DJs to celebrity appearances.

Palm Beach Casino – Place Franklin Roosevelt

The casino turned nightclub hosts some of the best live music events on the Riviera with artists ranging from P.Diddy to Eve. Open every night from start of July to the end of August and Friday and Saturdays in the off season, a night out here is a guaranteed hit!

For the late hours when everything else is closed

Le Barracuda – 22 Rue Latour Maubourg

The super popular bar during the congresses as it is open late and is not too far from the center, located just next to the Martinez.

La Chunga – 20 Rue Latour Maubourg

Also very popular during congress times, this piano bar is infamous for all night table dancing long into the early hours. A definite choice for an unforgettable night!
